Downtown Pilates is New Bern's premier center for Pilates. The well-equipped studio offers private and semi-private Pilates instruction as well as group classes in the STOTT PILATES® method. It is one of the only studios in the eastern Coastal Carolina area featuring a full suite of STOTT PILATES equipment. Our equipment classes can be purchased as either a Solo or Duet. The equipment used in Downtown Pilates equipment classes include: STOTT PILATES SPX Max Plus™ Reformer*, Rehab Reformer™, Cadillac / Trapeze Table, Split-Pedal Stability Chair™, Ladder Barrel, Spine Correctors and Arc Barrels. If you enjoy the energy of working out with others, our Group Pilates classes are an affordable and fun way to achieve your fitness goals. Our classes are small with no more than 8 students so you are certain to receive individual attention. The use of Arc barrels, stretch bands, and other small props add variety and challenge to traditional matwork.

We offer a variety of classes that include:

Core Barre™ - a high energy, low impact workout to upbeat music that combines elements of STOTT PILATES matwork, ballet and athletic conditioning exercises. The focus is on intensive isometric movements that sculpt the thighs, tone and firm the buttocks, flatten the abdominals and define the arms. The Ballet Barre work focuses on very isolated movements that target the thighs and the seat. These exercises are easy to learn and are also designed to improve coordination, strength and balance.

Pilates for Boomers - A Beginners/Intermediate STOTT PILATES Matwork class that addresses “Baby Boomer” health issues. Increase your level of fitness with less stress and risk to your body. Special focus on balance, range of motion and back pain care. Pilates is a great way to increase your strength, flexibility, balance and coordination and is an ideal exercise program for Boomers with its low impact exercises.

Pilates Matwork Plus - A Beginner/ Essentials level STOTT PILATES Matwork class that incorporates small equipment and props for additional sculpting and toning benefits. This mat-based workout is designed to help participants develop leaner, longer-looking muscles, establish core strength and stability, and improve flexibility.

Harmony Yoga and Pilates - A Beginner/ Essentials level class that combines elements of STOTT PILATES Matwork classes with gentle yoga to create balance in body, mind and spirit.
